I have a connection to a trak lok lsd for a 8.25 that I could pick up fairly cheap. I would pay a legitimate shop to swap it into my open 8.25. Is it worth doing for a trak lok? I could get the unit for about $80. It has 60,000 miles on it.

Trac lok with 60K miles is at the end of it's life. When you figure the cost of a shop installing it for you and a cost of the rbuild kit, you're looking at a cost of a noslip which you can install into your axle yourself.
