well i burned an intake valve on my 4.0 90 cherokee. i have a 88 4.0 with a re-manufactored motor with maybe 30 or 40K on it. i pulled the good head and it was very clean. the bad head on my dd was bad the oil looked baked on and it was very dirty. my dads friend is a mechanic and he volinteered to help my do all the tourqe'ing when im done.
so before i put the good head on my dd should i bring it to a machinist to have it looked over. i heard any work will run me in the hundreds and im poor.
also someone mentioned getting it hot tanked. and someone else said cleaning up the area around the valves and seats could mess it up b/c some of that crud acts as a seal.
im using a fel-pro gasket set i heard its pretty good stuff.
is there anything im forgettting thanks in advance
