change my username,got the message i couldnt register because email already taken by another user?

It's apparently a limitation of the settings for the forums. With these style forums, all you should have to do is click on the Profile Link, then change the username and hit submit, but there's options on the admin side to disable or enable that. I'm guessing they just need to enable it, so I requested they do on the help board:
