My girlfriends truck dropped a tranny the other day. I have no idea what it has in it. It is an aout that read P RNOverdriveD21 on the column. It is a 91' Ford F150 Lariat XLT with the 5.0.
I know it has a Borg Warner T-case but I am not sure which one. I was going to go to the local u-pull it yard and get one but I want to know what I am looking for. Any help? TIA

Depending on options, you could get a couple of different auto trannies. But the Lariat XLT package had the AOD tranny included as the standard. They are pretty durable though, I would look for another cause first.

This is what she said happened. She was driving along the highway, and all of the sudden the RPM's went up past 6000. Like she was in neutral. So she dropped it down to regular drive and it was fine and the it stated to do it again.

Overdrive and drive are completely gone now.

I found one through guy that works at the local Ford dealership. He said he could get a good used one for 75 bucks. I didnt ask if he wanted the old one or not but if he doesnt I will get back to you. And yes it was the AOD.

My 88 has a BW 1356 T-case.. but it has the T18 4 speed too.. but I thin the Tcase is the same for all trannies.
