242 to 231 Swap Question

I'm considering doing the 231 swap and I have a question. What length input gear would I want on the 231? Novak says there's 3, 2.1", 1.7' and 1.2" or something like that. Would it differ from years/tranny combo on the 242? If so I have a '92 with an AW4. I did search but I didn't find much on this topic.

I've never heard of a difference except possibly with the spline count.
I successfully swapped a 231 from a 99 into my 88
and I am about to put a (formerly a 242) tranny into the 88 with the 99's 231

This stuff gets way hit and miss -- Call Erik at Novak and he will make sure you get the right one -- they know their stuff.
