What is the difference between Warn replacement winch cable (WAR27110- $150- http://www.4wheelonline.com/rewiro.html) and just buying commercial grade aircraft quality winch cable ($50- http://www.recoverygear.com/winchcables.html)? Is the warn cable better or would it have anything that the cheaper version lacks. I really need to buy a replacement cable soon and am at a loss for what to buy. Is the Warn cable worth an extra hundred bucks? Thanks for any help you can give!

Looks the same to me. If the strength rating is the same,I'd buy the one from Recovery Gear and save the $$. E-mail them and see what the rating is and compare it to the Warn product, then make your decision based on that :D

Also check to see what the cable is;example- 7x19 -seven small cables with nineteen strands in each cable. Make sure you're comparing apples to apples. then but the cheapest. Check out the new type plastic/kevlar cables- no kinks- broken wires to cut your hands also will not fly when broken as a steel cable will.

I'll be replacing the brand new cable that came in my 9.5ti soon with a rope. PM me if you're interested and what you're time frame is. It's 125', 5/16" cable though, so it may be to long. I'll be doing the same for my dad's which is 2 years old, but never used. It may be shorter.

I have the stock cable and hook off my Milemarker 10,500 if you want it. You pay shipping and a little beer money (very little) and its yours.
