Okay determined my problem was due to my ignition switch on my 87 4.0, MT, 4x4 comanche. Brief rehash my radio, turn signals, wipers, and heater(no ac) all of sudden quit working did a search and found they all run through the ignition switch. Had a local parts changer swap it out for me and that brings me to this. Now everything works fine until you actually start the vehicle. That is when you turn the key forward to the first position all the afore mentioned stuff works, when you engage the starter they all quit again and now the brake light stays on and the temp gauge pegs out. Is the switch not adjusted properly or what? I know that the switch has that rod that attaches to the ignition lock. I plan on taking it back first thing in the am but wanted to run it by the board first to get you guy's take on it. Thanx in advance.
