Well my manifolds leaking now. I was thinking about upgrading, but I dont know any good shops around here. Not ones that would sell me needless junk that does nothing.

I haven't done business with him but Stan's in Auburn seems to have a good reputation.

Expensive, but top-notch work. That's for sure.

Maybe there should be a forum for exchanging this information...

That's the problem Phil...the rules say you can't do that:

It's not advertising per se, so this doesn't apply.
Advertising in the Advertising Forum is restricted as follows: NAXJA Members may not post more than 2 posts per month, and only one post in any 15 day period. Official NAXJA Sponsors may post one Advertisement post every 7 days.

The suggestion here is you can't suggest anyone you know.
* Participants shall not use the Forum to publish or discuss any information regarding their product or services, or future (possible) products or services, or any product or services they are, or have been, associated with. This includes, but is not limited to, suggesting your own services, or services of partners, clients, employers or friends. The Advertising Forums are for advertising.

We tried discussing within these parameters and the thread was deleted.
* Participants may not use discussions to recommend, praise, or belittle other products or services, or any company; without justification for those opinions expressed. This includes companies recommending other companies. Participants may not solicit the membership for feedback or suggestions on their commercial product or services.

Tried this too.
* Participants may only discuss details about their company and/or product offerings when the thread starter or poster has made direct reference to their company and (a) stated something untrue or misleading, or (b) stated something that clearly needs clarifying, or (c) specifically asked for information about the product or company. The response must be in direct reference to the point discussed only and shall contain no added promotional information and/or fluff.

So this, apparently, is not the place to talk about anyone that provides a service or product that generates enough feedback to actually become interesting, especially if anyone in the discussion knows anyone else personally. What's the point of reasoned dicussion if we can't actually disagree and share that disagreement? I don't see that it matters what forum the discussion takes place, the rules seem to disallow it.

I think it's great that no one is allowed to say who the "best" places to go locally and are left to stumble along and pay too much to the tech's that make the least amount of money and as a result are incompetant;

"oh I thought that the backlash said 600 thousands! oops!"

Well, I'm sure the powers that be would be more than happy to say you can go elsewhere if you don't like the rules. Hell, throw a fit and start you own club with a similar name to the organization you don't like. ;)

Bear in mind I don't have anything to do with the rules here. Never have. This is all part of NAXJA, which you have denounced in the past. What I fail to understand is how you keep coming back here and bitching about the SAME STUFF over and over again...knowing full well that nothing has changed. Unless crying in front of a national audience when you don't get your way is something you enjoy, maybe you should move on with your life and let us enjoy our club.

I guess what I don't understand is the lack of discussion on a discussion forum.

What you apparently don't understand is an organization with rules. You never have, in my experience. We're not all out to get you, we're just doing our thing and you stick your nose in it. It's in your nature. Go back to your own board and leave ours alone. You and the rest of the Harbor Freight Crew are the only ones who seem to have a problem with this.

And like many others, they're here for our entertainment.

And on that note, this thread is closed. All parties have been warned. There is NO commercial advertising allowed here. It is not allowed to have your "friends" do it either.

The parts of NAXJA rules quoted above should be clear enough. NAXJA does NOT want you to spam your business in the forums. If you have an offer or a product for sale, use the Classifieds. Do not post anything related in the forums.

Thank you for your understanding.
