I used to post there, but a lot of the people turned into tools. But yeah, a pretty good place for info.

P.S. To the original poster, what's up? Anything we might be able to figure out or answer here?

No....he's check engine light just came on at 60k and was wondering if that was just the factory mileage to have it looked at and just reset.

I hung out mostly in the mk2 forum and the Audi area.
Yeah what is the deal with the Jetta?

Is it running fine? The CEL was the worst part of having my VW. It would go off if the wind shifted suddenly. Things like MAF, EGR valve, vaccum leaks, misfires, O2 sensor, and the dreaded loose gas cap. If you don't know anyone with VAG-COM go to Auto Zone and have them scan it...it's a starting point.
Mine would go off all the time and run great. A dealer tech told me if it's blinking then get worried. Still not good to see that thing staring you in the eye though.

IIRC there was issues with the MAF on those. See if you can locate a tech service bulletin on it over there. Good luck.
Hope the codes come back as MAF. There IS an extended warranty on it cuz they were crapola. Warranty is good up to 70k. Lemme know if you need any more info on that.
