Did a search and came up with bits of info but nothing conclusive

What years did the unit bearings change styles from the recessed bearing to the flush bearing.

Yea I read on here and other forums, that mid-99 was the change over.
Look on the inside of your driverside door jam. I have a 4/99 build date, and I have the composite (older style) rotor. The hub is about $140 from AutoZone.

Just FYI Brian...that axle shaft assembly that Fergie got from you when I was broken down in Sedona was from a 84-89, per Eagle's post. The hub was different than the ones on my 96. That's why it didn't work. And it had a 260 u-joint.

No worries though. I'm keeping the axle shaft as a spare, minus hub.
