MJ's getting tired

I just noticed my MJ's back glass is working its way out, and there are some nice cracks appearing at the top of the cab above the corners.
I was thinking of welding them back up and putting reinforcing sheetmetal straps across the inside of the cab. Along with a cage. Great, more work I didn't really want to do.

Anybody else's MJ show this problem? This one's a 90 with 218K.

Haven't noticed anything, but now you're getting me worried.

Do you have a one'piece rear window, or a factory (or aftermarket) slider?

It's a slider. Factory as far as I know. The cracks start directly above the top corners of the window, and go up about a half inch. No visible cracking where XJ's have the issue, at the top rear corner of the doors.

I would weld a roll-bar to the frame right behind the cab, run 2 down bars to the frame farther back, and tie the roll bar into the full length of the 2 pinch seams.
