t-case lowering problems

NAXJA Forum User
I have a 95 XJ w/ RE 3.5 superflex and a 3/4'' t-case lowering spacerers.
I had a problem with the front right side t-case skid plate mounting point. Basically, the bolt I put in there won't to tighten past roughly 30 inch lbs. and the right rear mount point popped down about a 1/4 '' and will not tighten either. I was inquiring about the best way to re-mount the skid plate and T-case. i.e. heavt duty anchor nuts etc............? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

sounds like cross threading the hole may be you prob. can you look in the hole and see the threads. how does the bolt look? you may need you a tap and die set.

Sounds like the factory threads are not in very good shape. As long as the nutsert is still firmly secured in the chassis, you can retap the holes to 7/16 nf thread.
