"Renix" is short for RENnault-BendIX, the design consortium that developed the early XJ ignition/injection system.

Renix stands for Renault and Bendix. They worked together on the fuel injection controls for the early 87-90 4.0L I6. Jeep was in bed with them.

You were not wrong. I just think people really wonder where the term came from. I know I did when I first heard it. Now I own 3 of them. They all still work well. I am sure Eagle was thinking the same thing about where the term came from.

Id honestly rather have a renix XJ then a chrysler one maybe becuase i know the renix system and love its french ways...its def got its quirks but once you understand it its a good stable system... the fact that a multiport fuel injec system with all the feedback systems that the renix has in place exisited in 1987 model year is amazing to me... Plus its bulletproof i have never seen someone fry their ECM...
