Does this sound like I just need to bleed the brakes?
Just as I'm coming to a complete stop the brake pedal sinks and the XJ lurches left. Damn pedal actually drops a couple inches.
My pads were shot so I replaced them and rotors are good-- rear brakes have plenty left-- no difference.
Thanks for any advice--

check the rear brake cylinders for leakage. if your problem just accured than i dont think that just bleading your brakes is the answerl, unless the cap to the brake resevior is letting air in.

I bet I know what happened. :D

You removed the cap on the Master Cylinder so you could compress the calipers on the front. You shot out all the fluid, forgot replace the lost fluid when you replaced the cap. When you pressed the brakes.. you ran out of fluid, introducing air into the lines. :D
