Vacuum question

I am relocating the vacuum reservoir from the vulnerable spot in the front bumper to someplace with room in the engine compartment, the question is.....does the reservoir bottle have to be at the end of the vacuum line, after any other ports, or can I move it to any spot along the vacuum line. ie the vacuum line is attached to the intake manifold, then the brake booster, then the heat/ac, then the reservoir, could I change that and have it elsewhere without causing any mischief with the brakes, etc.....?
