View Full Version : Renix Computer mods
Has anyone ever found a performance chip for the renix years? I have been told that you have to solder them into the ecu but I don't have a problem doing that, because I can always pick one up at a junk yard and modify it.

if you want the same effects as one of them chips, install larger injectors and a high altitude CPS.
but it's a waste of money, IMHO

There was (discontinued, none left) a MOPAR Performance computer for $400. There is NO chip available for the Renix - AFAIK. I have been testing mods for 3 years before I installed the stroker and these are the best I have come up with - in this order.
K&N flat filter in stock airbox - this gets cool air from grille on Renix models
Remove venturi in air box snout.
Install Hi-altitude CPS - 8 degree ign advance.
Install Dynomax 2 1/2" super turbo cat back.
At that point you need more fuel so build an adjustable MAP and adjust (5.8v or so) to pick up performance.
Then hi-flow cat and Headers are next.
That will cost less than the $400 computer and provide more HP than the 10 -12 MOPAR claimed for the computer.
Does anyone know of any write-ups on building an adjustable MAP?

There is at least one write-up on this on the Stroker's e-Group. I don't have the URL but I just saw someone post it in another thread, within the past day or two.

you can send the computer to Superchips (somewhere in Florida) and they do the modifications and send it back to you.
not sure what they do to it though.
