Important "double" Lift Question

It's completely normal to add a BB to a lift to gain additional height. Use a spacer in the front and a shackle in the rear, not a block unless you add a traction bar.

Negatives to this would be too much height just to run 31s. Unless you were planning on running bigger tires.

Just keep in mind that going up another 1" or 2" from where you are now may create other issues like drivline vibration which is caused by the angle of the drivshaft. You may need a SYE or at least a transfercase drop. If you need an SYE it can get pretty pricey so if you only plan on running 31's just stay with the 3" you have now. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

What Dirk said. If you're planning to run 31's for now, why not run the 3" lift and maximize your usage of it (travel and so on) by using proper shocks and maybe trimming a bit. Then when you're ready to go to bigger tires, go taller.
