OK, well, no... it is NOT the old style forums many of us liked..... and some tend to hold on to like it is the end of the world.. LOL

With that said, I am inviting you all to a preview of the next release of vbulletin (released today!) forums.

There are many new features in the forum, and I will be working though them one by one to reach and optimal Performance/Useabilty balance.

One of the nicer features is a "threaded view" for those that miss that feature. No, it is not the same as the old forums, but none the less, is available in the UserCP.

What I am looking for is people to log-in, and post. DO NOT bother to post to the Tech/OEM/Non-Tech, Chapters etc..... They are only there to show what it *may* look like. PLEASE use the "Support and Administration Forums" to test things out. Post away, check things out. Enjoy.

That being said, I am not interested in hearing "this sucks, that sucks, I want the old forums back" etc..... Is not going to happen. The more I hear that the time that is volunteered is not appreaciated, the less time I will spend on it. Same with "Do this... Do that" type of stuff.... I am not here at the beck and call of orders to do things that people want. We try to do things when we can. Let us test things out, see what works.....

... give us some feedback, but those that choose to be strictly negative in nature, and against any change in general will find themselves unwelcome.

Unleash the dogs of war... but remember, this is a test FORUM. WHAT IS POSTED HERE WILL NEVER MAKE IT TO THE NAXJA FORUMS. Do not, however, abuse that.

I like it (not as much as the old forums) but at least now we can see who has contributed to the thread and all the witty titles again.

Yup, that is why this is going out for you all to look at. It has been LOOOONG overdue, and has features that will hopefully strike a *reasonable* balance among *reasonable* people... in that... most people should be happy. :)

Give it a go Jeff. Not the same as the old days.... and is still in progress.... so images may (probably wll be broken) be broken, slowing things down.... but most intersted in the advanced features like Threading, the Editor etc..... probably not much that can be changed... but will try to adjust where we can.

Spent some time today tinkering on the new forums from the office. <sigh> Like any change, it'll take some getting used to. </sigh>

I didn't break anything, at least, I didn't force any errors.

One thing I did notice is that there is a lot of navigation stuff displayed. And it takes up a lot of real estate, even on a 1600x1200 display.

Well someday I'll make it, but it'll be the Super Secert "No Beezil Allowed" NAXJA Event.
