View Full Version : oil level sensor, do i have one?

I have a 94 XJ 4.0L and I need a new oil pan. I was shopping online and there's two versions: one with an oil level sensor, and one without. Is there a way I can tell which I have without taking the oil pan off? Is this some luxury add-on?

Does the listing mention years?

In the very early years of the XJ there was an optional systems monitoring deal called System Sentry or System Sentinal that may have included an oil level indicator. Not available in 94 so don't worry about it. Buy the pan for "without."
