Will Arb model RD101 work with 3.55s?

Arb lists model rd101 as 3.54 and down and model RD100 for 3.73 and up. Where does this leave those with 3.55s? Dana 30 by the way.

you don't have 3.55s in your Dana 30, you have 3.54s.

Are there aftermarket 3.55s? Or is the guy trying to sell me 3.55s full of crap? Or he does not know what he has.

3.54 and 3.55 are essentially the same; the number is figured by dividing the ring teeth by the pinion teeth. The number rarely divides out to the hundredths place, but is rounded up or down and you end up with "something close"

There's no problem running closely mismatched gears like 3.54 and 3.55 and as BrettM pointed out, your D30 has 3.54s... http://ring-pinion.com/content/products/default.asp?vid=4&pid=5 It's not uncommon (and not crap) for someone to refer to the gears as 3.55, especially if they have a C8.25 in back because that really does have 3.55s

So if he realy does have 3.55s which arb locker will they work with?

3.54 (again, the D30 does NOT have 3.55 gears) & down RD101

If so, it is a RD101. And yes, 3.54 is the gearing I had. I revised the description....just assumed :laugh3: that 3.55 suffice.
