Today I finally got to release one of my XJ Travel bugs. Named the "Rubicon Pirate XJ". It is starting out in a cache near Hollister Hills SVRA.
It is at... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=2be3f423-1b92-4ec5-bf44-ef85f2384a52
It will be interesting to see where it travels to. The other Travel Bugs are heading to Moab with me for release. If you encounter any of them while out geocaching, help them in there mission to off-road around the USA.
Thanks,
Mary

What day you going to be in Moab? We are doing Top of the world trail on Wensday and there is a cool cache at the overview. OR we could create our own cache....Call it the NAXJA cache. I have a couple of ammo cans.

We are planning to be there by Monday night and are staying until Saturday.
My XJ is stock w/armor...can it make it up Top of the World? If so that would be great.
I am bringing 6 XJ TB's to hide.
Creating a cache would be fun also. What items should we fill it with?

top of the world is doable in a stock XJ no problem. Last month I took my family up there. We had a stock XJ,Stock durango, mildly lifted FJ-80 wagon and a stock CJ7. No one had any problems at all.
As far as what to put in a cache? Have to think about that one.

Well I finally got all my XJ Travel bugs released . I released 1 in California, 5 in the Moab area, 1 in North Carolina and 1 in South Carolina. If any of you are into geocaching and happen to cross their paths, maybe you can take them wheeling with you.
A couple of them have already landed in Colorado and I heard Tellico Green XJ #3 is heading for the Roswell/Carlsbad, NM area and the Redbush XJ #4 is being taken to the Boston area.

the travel bug I picked up is a Matchbox one (plastic)... I think I'll go through my old toy collection and see what I've got. sad that I still have those toy cars from Hot Wheels and Matchbox (Hot Wheels are better ;)).

These bugs are Matchbox cars. I have only found them at Target. They come in a 5 pack, with either a pirate or a Coast Guard theme. Just picked up a couple last week.

Whatevah,
Do not get rid of your old matchbox cars. There are collectors out there.

I live less than a mile from the original Jeep plant and only a few from the new plant. I'll look into it.
EDIT: I'm a moron. I didn't look at the dates or the pics from geocaching.com.

Yeah now if it would just start heading this way. It has been stuck in Alabama or Florida for a long time now.
