Another homemade bumper....

My son and I put this together this weekend.

Thanks folks. As far as the rear bumper is concerned, I bought one from Off-Road Tech. before they shut down. I did fab a tire carrier for it though...

I took quite a few while building the bumper but my camera seems to have eatin them. Not sure what happened really. I'll take some more pics tomorrow and add some dimensions.

I started by removing the 4 bolts that attach the OEM bumper caps to the fenders and slid a long piece of cardboard between the bumper and the grill. I traced out the shape of the front end and added the shape I wanted for the bumper/winch mount. The tray that holds the winch is 1/4" thick. the supports that bolt to the frame rails are also 1/4". The angled pieces that attach to the bottom are 1/8" and I also used 2x4x3/16" and 2x2x3/16" tube.


Pretty much built it on the fly so to speak. It was a blast!!
