4" Driveshaft?

Is that normal?

I have an 88 MJ 2WD 6cyl peugot trans. It's got a D44 rear in it. Looks like the driveshaft is about 4" in diameter. Is that normal, or did someone swap things around on me?

Same with my 2wd. Thats how they came. I think its some kind of a bushing or something.

Long driveshaft=large diameter. They need to be large dia. to resist bending.

yes the MJ driveshafts are larger than the XJ...
both in length and diamiter

wether or not they are larger in diamiter because that is what all the truck driveshafts are or because they are longer - is up for grabs...
