I have a 88 XJ and I was wondering if I had a vacuum axle disconnect? Or how I could tell. It also idles kinda rough could that be because i dont have a vacuum canister?
Yes, you should have an axle disconect. Look for it mounted on the axle. I wish I had a picture to show you what it looks like. I am sure some one here has a picture to let you know what it looks like.
If the Jeep has a selectrac(full time mode) t-case, then no disconnect. Otherwise it should have one. While not having the vacuum canister can cause some problems, rough idle is not one of them. High idle maybe if the line is not sealed off.
