I'm looking for a good roof mount antenna for my pickup. K40's have alway's been my favorite, but I'm worried about room.

I'll have to take the antenna off when I put the camper on and I was looking for something that had a little shorter base.

Can you pull the Wilson's off just by unscrewing the coil or is it more complicated than that? I was looking at the parts diagram http://www.wilsonantenna.com/parts.htm and it appears something like a PL259 end sticks through the roof with a nut to hold it in place. The coil then screws on it it. Can anyone confirm that and tell me how tall the conector sticks out of the roof when the antenna is removed?

Thanks,
Lincoln

Everything you said is right on. I have a wilson 1000 on both my XJ & my wifes rig. I'd say it sticks out of the roof about 1-1.5". They also came with a nice little cap to replace the coil when your not using the antenna & need to get it in the garage.

Thanks Matt.

I spent last night replacing the radius arm bushings, track bar bushings, and springs. Those are a pain. I'll let you keep those radius arms.

Thanks,
