Well some details have been worked out.August 7th to the 13th remain the same. We will be basing the entire event out of the Buena Vista area this time. The ame camp ground as last year hopefuly. The reasoning behind this is it will allow for more wheeling and less travel. I am working on a trail schedule to appease both the hard core and the stockers and everything in between. If there are any trails that you would really like to see on the list please P.M. me and let me know. For those that are upset over us not doing the Ouray portion of the event this year,I'm sorry, last year felt rushed and we would like a more relaxed feeling this year.I will do my best to make sure the trails will offer the same level of scenery and diversity. If you are planing on atending please post up with how many in your group and what type of camping you will be doing I.E. tent ,trailer,R.V. so I can start on the camp groun arrangements. Thanks see you in August

Just been super busy- no time to fix my jeep; but I did buy a couple of axles with 4:10's outta Pull'n'Save with Andrews help :worship: .
Now I just gotta get 'em in there. I also nearly ripped the steering box from the frame  ; so thats gotta be fixed too. I'd like to install ACOS and 2" shackle lift before summer. I'll have to do some searchin' :eyes: around here to see if I got any more 'permits', but I don't think you need one if yer going huntin'
Sorry to hear 'bout Smurf :tear: , I really liked that paint job.

He guys, Matt from T&T Customs. This year we've decided to donate some swag for the raffle. It's a little ways off now but every so often we'll post up some more pictures and information about the products we'll be donating...yeah, you heard me right, productS plural ;)
Here's the first one. These particular pictures are of our xtreme duty drop trac-bar mount in design mode but I'm proud to say that we just completed our first production run and they'll premiere this weekend on a NAXJA run held at Chinamens...for those of you in attendance this weekend, we'll be giving away 5 of these by the way.

So let's recap...
Yow show up for Colorado Fest 2005 and you'll get to wheel with members and friends of the NAXJA Colorado Chapter, enjoy the beautiful Colorado outdoors and, there's a chance that you could win 1 of 5 T&T Customs Xtreme Duty Drop Trac-bar Brackets.
If you'd like more information about these brackes we're going to be donating to the cause, you can visit our website at http://www.tntcustoms.com on or after April 18th for all of the specs and a detailed writeup on what makes our design far superior to any.

I know Im planning on going. My rig and a tent and plenty of brews and stuff to bbq, along with a few people to help with gas. I know my roommate cutlaredo is bringing his heeper too. Look forward to meeting everyone. I should be done building and installing my custom rear bumper with swing out tire carrier and hi-lift mount, as well as mounting my brush guard to my custom (read c-channel suprise...) front bumper....and the ZJ rock rails I picked up for cheap (about an inch and half too long for my 2 door). Plan to also get the kinks worked out of the suspension after recently going up to 3-3.5 inches (new HD track bar and tie rod). We will most likely be seeking moderate trails that dont require lockers and full skid plates

I am planning on coming up again this year but I have a slight dilemma. See there's an issue I'm having that involves me not owning an XJ any more. I do have a new (to me) Toy to wheel and I should have it done with time to spare if you'll still have me. I am hoping to follow Led up Carnage this time instead of riding shotgun unless after they heard an XJ on 33’s went through it they made it impossible unless your running 42’s or you ban me for going to far to the dark side :gag:

I guess you could say I got burnt out on the buggy project. Once the Cherokee got to the point of trailer only I lost interest (even more so after I traded off the tow rig). Well that and I started selling stuff off to make room for new axles, tires, and steering before I had replacements to go in. I traded what I had left of the Cherokee for the Toy this past weekend.
The Cherokee I bought and wheeled for last years trip sat for three months after I got back. So when another Jeeper offered to buy it off of me for more then I had in it I couldn’t resist.
If I put some MJ decals on do you think anyone would notice it was a Toy :laugh3:

Isn't that what people said last time?
I really would like to do it again this year and I definitely will not have 35's so to make up the 1" of clearence I'm planning to shave the 8.25. That and I actually have a winch on my Jeep instead of in my living room this time.
If there is any way to get a Cherokee on 33's up Carnage I'm sure Led is the guy to lead it up there. Think of the bragging rights he will have if he does it again this year. I don't really get bragging rights A) Because without a good spotter (Led in this case) and a good trail partner will to stack rocks (Troy Betka and others) there is no way I would make it. B) When I tell people local to WI that I drove up Carnage Canyon I just get blank stares.
I just love a challenge, which is of course why I do this silly stuff. :sunshine:

Not to bust your chops, but I think it defeats the purpose of the trail. I consider rock stacking equivilent to winching. I use them only when necessary. Why run the hardest trails around if all the real obsticals are giong to be bypassed? It "may" be possible to run it on 33's, but I would highly discourage it. Be prepared for serious body damage.

Yes we did have to stack some rocks last year. Mostly because of the lip of my 8.25 getting caught in some places. I've been on very few trails where some rock stacking wasn't nessesary for most or all people. In reality we had to throw a rock or 2 even for the guy on 35's. Matter of fact I don't ever remember being on a very difficult trail where someone didn't need a few rocks stacked. I don't think there is any shame in using a rock or two when needed. Now If I really had to bring rocks with me, that would be a different story.
I truely think we did a pretty damn good job last year. Because of great spotting and a few well placed rocks I made it through with no damage. More importantly I made it through.

I have run quite a few trails on the ol xj on 33's where I had been told it was not possible.. creative lines and a good spotter willing to take you to the edge make all the difference... IF its in a canyon and not high up I will try about anything to not stack a rock...dont like heights though..LOL

Not doubting your abilities-just passing along info because the trail has changed(gotten more difficult) over the last couple of years. :)
Heights wont be an issue.I think the new minnimum tire size requirement, especially how the trail is now,is 35" and unless you have 40"+ tires you have to winch out of the exit

The pics on that website are VERY deceiving as they were taken probably a couple/few years ago.Trail has changed over time and is much more difficult than those pics suggest. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate it.
Ive seemed to notice thats the case with almost all pics of wheelin.

Hey,
I live in Fairplay, about 45 min. from Buena Vista. I'm not sure if I can come but would like to. It would just be me and would probably be for only one or two of the days. Would this be okay.

Oh, I know it will be hard to leave. The big thing will be getting off enough days of work. As many as I can get off I'll be there. Hopefully I can come.

If there is still room, I am in with a buddy of mine. I would be coming out Wednesday night, staying until Sunday. Tent camping.
Stocker friendly trails for me. If I can help in any way, let me know.

To whom it may concern.
I have finally gotten my issues settled with the Atlanta Braves. I will be leaving after the last game with the St. Louis Cards (Sunday the 7th) and leave St. Louis that night. Get to Kansas and grab the Jeep, and head to Colorado on Monday. Hope that I can All the way there on Monday, and be able to hit Wheeler lake on Tuesday. If not I'll be at the campground for the Tuesday night fun.
See ya

Since I live within 45min of Buena Vista I think I can get out of work to make it to a few of the days. For sure Sunday and Saturday, I just won't be able to camp out there. Have to go home every night. What time and where is everyone meeting Sunday? I've got a 3.5"lift and have done Chinamans Gulch many times. Hopefuly that gives an idea of what trails I'd be able to do. Thanks, looking forward to next week.

Show up, we'll get you in an appropriate group.

Yes 9am departure times are the "rule". I would suspect on a few of the farther away trails the appropriate leader will post an earlier time if needed.
