My heater/air fan speed switch on the dash in my 2000 XJ only works on high position. The other positions don't work (don't turn on the fan). What is the problem? Thanks in advance!

Check your blower motor resistor pack and its connections. It's a kind of resistor block that gives resistance in multiple steps resulting in different speeds. It's location is on the passenger side plenum recirculated air intake. You can't miss it there's a plastic grate with a flapper valve attached to a vacuum motor. If you have haynes manual #50010 it's depicted on page 3-8. Hope this helps.
