i have an 88 jeep 4.0 4x4 5 speed peugot, anyone wanna help me out?
and what t-case would i need for an AX-15 swap?

You should have a round plate on the TC unless it has been removed. Would show model # and build date.

If your shift pattern looks like this 2hi,4full time, 4part time,N, 4low than you have the NP242
If it looks like this 2HI,4HI,N,4LOW, than you have the NP231.

231, it's the only one that came with the manual trans (88 XJ)
