D30/Chry8.25 Regearing Write-up?

Does anybody have links to a write-up on re-gearing the Dana 30 and a Chrysler 8.25, or an axle that may be very similar?

I'm interested in learning how to regear my axles. I know most people recommend leaving it to the pro's, but I'm prepared to do alot of reading and take as much time as necessary to do it right, and I have a "pro" to help me out if I do get stuck.

i regeared by just getting 4.10 axles from a junkyard.

If you have the time, you can do it right. Most here have geared D30's and D44's. I know there is tons of info on the board. So If you search with users like ChuckD, Rawbrown and Beezil. I'm sure you'll find some very good information.

For the first time, I would recommend having a "pro" teach you the proper way.

The best write-up you're likely to find is in the factory service manual (FSM).

If you don't have a FSM you should not be attempting this job.

funny, I bet alot of the "pro's" at most off road shops have not Cracked open a FSM to do gears.
I learned in a shop class, and if I were to look for the specs I needed now, I would be looking at the manufacturers..
Check out the Gear websites.. Yukon, Dana, Currie, etc., I am sure you will find info..

http://www.differentials.com/install.html seems to be pretty good. Randy's Ring and Pinion also has a good install article, which is nearly identical to the one on WCD's site.

good writeup on it.. im gonna buy a video on it and try it i think.. i also have a friend who's dad does swaps on dana 60's in his race car.. so I think I will be fine
