88 Wagoneer Question

I just got an 88 Wagoneer 4.0L AW4 NP242 and noticed it has a non disco D30. Looked at the t-case and it has no vacuum lines but a plug with wires coming from it. Was just wondering if this is common or not. Ive never dealt with the NP242 before.

no 242 equipped XJ EVER had a disco axle.

how it works is really simple, you shift the lever and 4wd just works. none of that vacuum BS to fail.
