Torque Converter/Brake Switch Symptoms?

I am getting the often-mentioned/never solved TC lock/unlock clunk at 40-50 mph.

Changed the TPS--Didn't fix it (runs better, however). $80.

Fluid's OK.

Left the battery unplugged overnight after changing the TPS.

Brake lights are working normal; I even shimmed the plunger by zip-tying a sliver of a folded index card between the plunger and brake pedal arm to eliminate the slack in the plunger. Are there separate contacts in the switch for the trans/lights/etc.?

Before I blow another $XX on another part that isn't broken (a long list with my truck) trying to fix an odd problem, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help...

Mine did that.
I needed a battery so I took the one out of my Jeep.
Two weeks later, when I put the bat back in, it didn't do it any more.
Conclusion...The computer needed to reset its self,
Prbably won't need to leave it out for two weeks, but try a few days, at least the weekend.
I don't know why else it quit doing it when I put the new bat. in.
