Which K&N filter size, 4.5x5" or 6x9" ?

Im ordering Rustys intake tube for my 1990 XJ. They say that the K&N 4.5x5.5" filter is plenty for the 4.0L but can opt to get the bigger 6x9" filter. Is it worth the extra $13 to get the larger filter? Anyone have any issues with the smaller one and clogging up sooner?

the way i see it... with a filter thats 2X the area, the flow rate through each pore is 1/2 as much, granted there are 2X MORE pores, it may do a better job of filtering, last longer between cleanings...and looks cooler. howsmygrammar?

It's worth it. I got 3 of the kits from Rusty's. However, with the smaller filter you can run your battery on that side if you want to move it over for accessories or a dual battery setup, then get the small 1. Otherwise I'd say get the bigger one. I have the bigger 1 on my dd zj and the smaller one, I got when I bought my jeep on my wheeler xj. They both work good.
