So...is it common for this lift to be way high in the rear, at first?? I just installed mine last night, and it's 4" higher in front than stock, and 6" higher in the back!!! I'm REALLY hoping those rear leafs sag a bunch!
Anyone got any comforting news?

When you instaleld the rear did you tighten the spring and shackle bolts while the rig was in the air? If so, loosen them a hair, drive around the block and then torque to spec.

Mine has been on 3 weeks, it was the same way and as settled quite a bit since that time. On day 1 mine was almost 6" higher in the back
You have to remember, the lift specs are compared to an XJ of your year when it rolled off the assembly line, NOT from when you put on the lift. How much has it sagged since the day it was made??
I have a full size spare and a full tank of gas and things are almost equal. I DID put an extra 3/4" spacer in the front as well as I added a JCR Offroad bumper. That did add to it being more level.

No, I didn't...but I DID tighten them as soon as I lowered it to the ground - didn't drive around loose and then tighten them.

I have a '99 that sat pretty much level - the lift added 4" to the front, which I expect will sag at least a 1/2 inch or so, and 6" to the rear - which means the rear is gonna hafta sag 2 inches or so to be relatively normal...but I'm getting the impression I just need to relax and load up the back end a bit to help break it in.
I guess I haven't noticed too many XJ's lifted with this kit that looked "funny"...so I guess I just need to quit worrying!

Rocketman,
You have Canyons on yours?? If that's what they are, are you using any kind of wheel spacer...or do they work fine as is? I'm getting a set to run on mine.

My XJ has the same lift and I finally had to add AALs. The back end dropped until it was a couple inches LOWER than the front. But in all fairness, I do haul about 100lbs of tools and stuff in the cargo area and the lift has been on a few years.
