Going to start sleeving the "frame" of the XJ. Which do you prefer for the best results, Arc or MIG, if you prefer Arc what rod do you like?, I will be using 1/4" Channel to do this. Good penetration with out blowing through the unitbody..

1/4" sure seems like overkill. MIG will be way easier for welding on the thin unibody.

which are you better at? seems to me mig is easier and like brett said probably easier to dial in for thin material.

I should have mentioned that this for a Radius arm set up. felt like 1/4 would be a better option for the mounts to hold up. and to stiffen the "frame". I unded up using the Mig, as Per Brett, I think it was the better choice.

Not a Journeyman Welder, but I met one once.....
not that you can do anything about it now, but 1/4 on the uni is overkill......3/16 is fine. angle your gun to concentrate the heat on the 1/4 and you should minimize overheating the uni-metal.
