My altenator went out this morning so a few hours ago i stopped by the parts store for a replacement. I asked the counter guy how many amps the altenator I was buying was rated at was and he said it calls for a 60 amp one. I dont have any real big power draining mods or anything. (no winch, no rock lights). Just an amp and added power windows. My question is, is 60 amps going to be enough for the heep with old wires and all that jazz? Thanks for any insight and opinions.

Here's what I found so far:
4 cylinder w/o air = 61 amp base
4 cylinder with air = 74 amp base
6 cylinder w/o air = 61 amp base
6 cylinder with air = 85 or 100 amp base
--- (that was from an '89 FSM)
I don't know what other years run.

I went with a 200 amp Mean Green alternator...
