What year did the 97 up xj's have the chrome grill in them? was it a special package? If any one has a pic that would be great. Thanks

It was a freedom package. I think about 99 and up...somewhere along that year.

My 2000 Limited also has the chrome grille, plus light surrounds and rear number plate plinth.

Shameless plug: if anyone has the above items in good shape and body-coloured to match colour code PU7 ('Sienna Pearl Coat'), I'd be willing to do a 1:1 swap.

yea i was looking at puting the chrome grill and license plate thinger on my sport.. forget the dealer they want a small fortune.. like 90 per headlight bucket 140ish for the grill and anther 80 for the rear one... maybe il stumble across a wrecked one day.. yea wishfull thinking

Look on Ebay... they seem to post those items all the time. Sometimes, there's even "package sets" which include the headlight trim as well as the grill....

The chrome grille came on the 2000 Freedom Editions and the 2000 Limited's. The 2000 Limiteds also had the chrome rear license plate brow.
