View Full Version : BOTW pics...great trip!!

Here's my pics, all 399 of them with captions sort of telling the story. It was great that people came from so far, Erik from Portland, Jeff from Wisconson, Brad from Wisconson, Sean and his folks from Ohio, and Led from CO, plus the Sierra Chapter guys from NorCal. The weather forced a couple of schedule changes but we mostly wheeled in good weather all week, though we hit some bad rainstorms while traveling. Thanks to Mil Thornton for cooking dinner and breakfast for us in Parker, it was very good as usual.

Thankfully, all the carnage (and there was a lot of it this year) was able to be fixed except for Sean's folks rear driveline and yoke, and Matt's front output shaft yoke, but both breaks were on their last day of wheeling so it wasn't too big a deal. There was considerable body damage on this trip, with most of it hardly noticed (few pics) because there was so much. I'm sure Brad will have plenty of stories to tell when he gets to Winterfest, if he can even remember where he got every dent and scrape.

Like always, this trip is a first rate vacation, with the best wheeling and great friends. Take your time and enjoy the pictorial......I'm sure a few pics will generate a few more comments. :)

Just like one of you young bucks to go right to that picture....... :)

Sean pretty much went over backwards. When Jes gets his pics up he has a good sequence of the whole thing. That waterfall is so dug out at the bottom that it's a make it or roll situation if you hit it hard enough to have a chance.

, Brad from Wisconson,

oops.......meant Brad from Chicago. Chixjeff came out with him. Brad earned his stripes the hard way, and with no whining. I'm sure he has a few more build plans after this trip. Anyone want a nearly new set of 33" Mudzilla's? :D

Amazingly, Porch Puppy (Andy) made it through another trip (he's been on them all) with no body damage. He's done all the trails we run and still has NO body damage......running 33's and a stick. Besides being a great driver, he's an excellent spotter.

I can't say enough about these trips. The people alone make the trip worth while. The rain sucked big time without a top, but Rick flying through a puddle next to me at 30 mph & giving me a mud shower sucked even more. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for the pics and the stories. It looks like quite a few of you are going with the XJ buggy thing.
Farmer Matt: Did you buggy your green/yellow XJ or is this another XJ that you created? Just wondering, I liked your white then green/yellow John Deere XJ. I'm a Packers fan so I guess I just like that color combo anyways. :laugh3: So is the John Deere tractor a CAT now???

The same with C-Rok, is this his rig or did he create another 1, a buggy? I know that both of you guys sell XJ stuff and wasn't sure if you created another vehicle because your primary XJ is used to prototype your products you guys sell. C-Rok his bumpers, cage, steering box plates. Matt your tail lights, roof rack etc. Just wondering.

This is what happened to C-ROK's XJ. It's in the first hot tub usually called the Car Wash on the Hell's Revenge Trail during the 20th celebration of the XJ in Moab October 2003. When it finally came to rest it was 8 feet in front of me. It litterally shook the ground.

What a whiner. Go clip your toenails or have your nose wiped. That should save you a pound or two.

Paul is just eliminating the double non-fat latte he got from Starbucks on the way to the trail.

Problem with the grievance commitee is that Hinkley is on it..........

I'm glad to see that Lincoln is able to wheel in his imagination through our efforts.........it's nice to help out a friend. One of these days his wife will let him actually join us, if he convinces himself that a dent or two isn't the end of the world. :moon:

1. I had a long chat with your wife about what needed to be done with you.
2. Dents make me cry like a baby.
3. I appreciate the thoughts. :D

The roof. You missed the last day, huh.
Goatman's winch strap running through the roof rack to the cage on a sideways pull.
Dented roof slightly.
Small, but it counts.
The hood was spared, though.
