Has anyone put stock front flares on the rear?

Hey guys, I just finished putting TJ flares on a guys XJ this weekend and got to wondering if the front XJ flares could be used for the rear. I would like to get a little more room in the rear for the 33's that I just got and don't really want to lift it another inch if I don't have to.

I have access to a set of XJ front (or rear) flares and thought about using the fronts for the rear, then splicing in my existing rear flares to make a 2 piece flare for the rear. I have a 4 door and would do this in the same way that most mount their TJ flares.

Any ideas on this one? I will post pictures if I go ahead and do it this way.

i looked at doing this, but the 'arc' is different between front and rear, so they don't quite match up.
