With the $ I have into lower gearing, not fixing the "1-2" AW4 mode would not be smart.

mine controls all of the gears with a rotarty switch, but the big difference with mine is that it is manual control all of the time. these links should answer most questions, let me know if you have any others:

I have a factory aw4 in my 95. Can this be used in conjunction with the factory TCU and have either manual or automatic shifting? If so i want one.

right now, no. if you install it you have manual all the time. when I get done with school in May I will have more time and I'm planning on coming up with one that lets you select auto or manual.
