What is the simplest way for me to find out if the a/c comperssor fan itself has failed on my 87 4.0.?

What is the simplest way for me to find out if the a/c comperssor fan itself has failed on my 87 4.0.?

Compressor fan ??? You mean the electric fan that comes on with the compressor ?
if so take it out and hit it with direct electricity. if it spins its good.
