jumpy on road when going over bumps

hey all i have a 96 xj classic with about 192000 miles and when ever i go over bumps in city or highway my jeeps rear end jumps from side to side are my shocks worn out and if so what would be a good replacement set?

Yeah, it does sound like your old rear shocks are totally knackered. A pair of OEM UpCountry gas charged shocks would be excellent replacements but if you don't like OEM, you could try OME (Old Man Emu) instead.
