Can you buy the type of spring clamps that let the springs open up a little, but keeps them straight? Any body here take spring clamps off of the rear of their spring pack?

Yeah I took them off, I only have on on each side, on the fronts. Just pull out the cut off tool and buzz through them. Lickety split no shit.

I just opened mine up so they were pointing straight up, drilled through a couple and ran a bolt up by the top. Works soooo much better now.

The square section of the carriage bolt head is large enough to wedge inside the existing square hole so that it doesn't rotate when tightening the locknut (nylock). The "rubber tubing" is actually some stiff plastice tubing, similar to washing machine hose.
