Lowest gearing available?

I'm putting together a list of the lowest gears available for a bunch of different axles. I looked these up on precision gear's website, but I wanted to make sure there were no mistakes. I thought it'd be good to add to the stickied gearing thread when all the info is verified.

Dana 30 - 5.38
Dana RC30 - 4.88
Dana 44 - 5.89
Dana RC44 - 5.13
Dana 60 - 5.13
Dana RC60 - 5.13
Dana 70 - 5.86
Dana 35 - 4.88
Ford 8.8 - 5.13
Ford 9" - 6.50
Toyota 8" - 4.88
Chevy 14B - 5.13
Chrysler 8.25 - 4.56
Ford 10.25 - 5.13

PS - got anymore to add to the list? 12bolt, 10 bolt, etc?

Ucon has 5.38's avalable for the HPd44.

it would be cool to make a chat comparing front and rear axles with all the gear ratios - because it is generaly accpted that you want the front and rear to match... from time to time... maybe... <---saracsim

The lowest gear for a RC 44 or 60 are 5.38's. I know because I'm going with 5.38 gears in my hp44. Otherwise looks good Billy, thanks for the info. :wave:

there are 5.38s coming out for the 14bolt soon

Toy 8" goes down to 5.71, but most would say not to go below 5.29 for strength reasons.

the Toyota Tacoma diff (often wrongly called the 8.4, 8.25, 8 1/4, etc) goes down to at least 5.29 if not lower.

there are 6.17 and 7.17 gears for the D60 and/or D70 (low pinion), I don't remember exactly.

the Toy 7.5 goes down to 5.71, but you might as well delete it off your list, it's the D35c of the Toyota world. if anyone swapped one into an XJ I would personally smack them.

the high pinion 8" goes down to 5.29

Thanks Brett. I'm guessing that the 8" is usually LP? Does Toyota make the HP flavor?

yeah, the HP Toy 8" comes in the front of Land Cruisers, also with an electric locker available. It can be put into the mini truck axles (front or rear) also. pretty sweet diff.

but you listed it wrong, 5.29

Dana 60 & 70 go way low down to 7.17

I already changed the 60 and 70. Do I need to change the HP60?

Yeah, both the hp44 & hp60 go down to 5.38 gears.
