1997 XJ, 4.0, 231J, AW-4, 3" OME Lift
I have noises coming form my dashboard behind the instrument cluster.
It sounds like a speedometer cable, if I had to guess. Sometimes I would guess that it is a gaseous sound like something that a pressurized gas system makes, such as a refrigeration unit.
My understanding is that from '91 on the speedometer is electric so there would be no cable. in that case, and my speedometer guess would probably be wrong.
When the vehicle is stopped, there is no noise, it is only when I am moving that I hear the noise.
That would seem more like speedo again as opposed to mabe A/C/ stuff that is behind the dash.
Also, it is worse when the vehicle has been sitting, as opposed to mid-day when the car has been used for several hours.
Any ideas how to fix ths noise? It's not just annoying, it is signaling me that something is wrong or going wrong.
