The entire inside broke out of my MT shift knob. I was thinking to fill it up with expoxy or something and them redrill the hole. If anyone has some sugestions I would appreciate it, or even a used knob would be good too.

I didn't think about wallymart, I already check out the local parts stores and they had some ultra cheap crap and the good one I liked was $30. I figured I could fix mine up cheaper.

Have you thought about a ball of duct tape?
just keep wrapping it around the end of the shifter... until you make a nice size ball that fits your hand.
or just fill it with metal putty and then drill it out...
your choice... :D :D :D

It get's really hot! :fire: here in Fresno, Duct tape would be way too sicky. I thought of metal puttys, probably need two sticks.

I used West System epoxy on mine. I got it before all the innards actually fell out, so I was able to goop it back together. It has held for years.

Ohhh Zion, I was so tempted, but I got the $5.00 putty instead. I'll make sure I post pictures and document this one. :D

Those things are crap -- I'm on the third or fourth knob in the '88 XJ, and I'm easy on them.
Go to a dealer and buy a knob, lock nut and shift pattern insert for a 2000 TJ -- it'll be the last one you'll ever buy, and updates the appearance to match the late model XJs.

I don't know Eagle, I think the neon lighted one will help me shift faster. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:
