Driver's side hood latch doesn't stay secure - '89.

Hi Everyone,

For some reason the driver's side hood latch doesn't stay secure. I can push down on it and it seems to catch and lock but as soon as I drive the drivers's side hood pops up.

I tried pushing in the hood release handle as sometimes but not always there is a little play in it. But it doesn't really help.

I looked under the hood but couldn't seem to find any kind of adjustment.

Any ideas? Would a new spring help?

Grease the piviot where the cable from inside meets the release for both sides. Hit it with PB Blaster to losen then spray some white lithium on it and you should be good to go.

I used Liquid Wrench instead, but will switch to PB Blaster when can runs out.

Wish all Jeep fixes were this easy.
