need a quick answer about 297 u joints

There is a guy who has front Dana 30 out of a either a 94 or 95 YJ (He is not too sure). I know that the 95's had 297x U-joints and some of the 94's might have. With out having another axle or U-joint to compare, how can I tell him the difference between a 297 and a 260 ujoint?
I will be purchasing the passenger side shaft only from him.

297x has a 1 3/16" cap diameter

260x has a 1 1/16" cap dia.

quick way to tell is to see if it has the tone ring for the ABS.

Are you saying that an axle with ABS is a 297 or a 260?

It is possible (and common) for a 297 without ABS during the crossover years.

Yes, but ABS has definitely the 297 u-joint
