Are the imput shafts interchangable from the np 249 and the 231? I have a 249 of a 1997 grand with the 318 and the 231 is from a 90 with a 4.0. Want to put the 231 on the grand drivetrain. If my research is correct the 90 should be a 21 spline and the 249 should be a 23. Thanks.

I know NP242 and 231 input gears are interchangeable (I just did a swap), and I THINK a 249 would be as well as the 249 and 242 were both in similar ZJ setups... but I can't be sure.
