couse grades vs fine thread

The fine thread seems to be a bit tighter and has less slop. I also only found the grade 8 bolts I used locally in the fine thread.

Re: coarse grades vs fine thread

I use 1-1/4"x12,the advantage of finer pitch is the "finer adjustment.Depending on what ends you use you may only be able to adjust them in 1-turn increments!

Re: coarse grades vs fine thread

im not real happy with slop in my control arms
as far as the pitch of the thread I just measure the adjustability of it on one turn and decide form there
it seems coupler nuts on the internet can be quite pricy
tapping is a pain in the butt
and inserts are over $20 bucs a piece in a 1" tread (if you can find em)

I paid 5$ for mine!

Re: coarse grades vs fine thread

picked these up locally for $16 all together
so I figure the jam nut will tighten the thread enough to minimize the slop because of the coarse thread vs fine thread
one turn equals approx 1/4" diffrence in lengths

Two thoughts, first get more length for adjustability than that, second the reason for finer threads is to adjust the axle yaw.1/4" increments may not be able to properly square up the axle!
