Hello from "sunny" Trafalgar, Indiana! I've been a lurker for a long time and actually a paid member since last year, but wanted to finally introduce myself, etc.
My name is Bill and I'm a computer support tech by trade. Into metal music(Slayer,Opeth, Cradle of Filth, InFlames, Shadowsfall as well as all the classics).Also into videogames, computers, camping, and a good beer. I know, who cares, what about my XJ?
1999 XJ 8.25/d30 still at 3.55 for now
6" Full Traction lift on 35" MTR's with lots of trimming
OME shocks
Rockyroad rock rails
Front towhooks(need hitch installed yet for back)
Warn d30 diff skid, Rusty's 8.25 diff skid, CB radio
85k miles.
In the past, me and the ex wheeled an 01XJ 4.5 on 32"s.
This rig has only been lifted since about July/August, wheeled once so far in Rockport and did great altho braking blows on the trail. As $$$ presents itself, gearing/locker and brake conversion is on the horizon and possibly a trailer.
I have wheeled Badlands, Turkey Bay, Redbird, Haspin, Tellico and Rockport and CombsRd in Indiana. However on this rig, only Rockport back in August and the rest of the places above not since 02. Divorce will throw a wrench in things doesn't it?Better off, but I digress...
Mechanically I am a high beginner. The XJ isn't my DD, but I do like to drive it to work on occasion, etc. I am learning and trying to build up my parts/tools and experience and hope to learn from everyone on this forum, etc.
Well, anyway, sorry took so long to post, but better late than never. I am 25 miles due south of downtown Indy for reference for those who are in Indiana, etc.
